The Church in Great Notley is a Local Ecumenical Partnership of the Baptist Union, the Church of England, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church; in associate partnership with the Roman Catholic Church.
Our Sunday morning service, at 10:30, is for everyone. All ages are welcome at our worship each week and provision is made for the children. Junior Church provides Bible teaching and activities for children of all ages. On the fourth Sunday of each month, we have Family Service. The services are led by a minister or lay reader from a different denomination each week.
The Church in Great Notley celebrated its 11th
anniversary on 13-Jan-2009 whilst Junior Church celebrated it's 9th
birthday on 27-Jan.
Starting off in 1998 in a portakabin (located in what is now
the car park of The Cricketers pub!) we currently meet in the
Community Centre
by the village green.
Since our foundation we have been working towards providing a dedicated
church building to be open and available to all the people of this
community. We own the land for our building and are fund raising with the help
of the The Friends of the Church in Great Notley. We organise and join in local area events and are all very excited about the task ahead and thank God. For a brief history please visit our Feature page.
As well as supporting events and activites for The Church in Great Notley many of our members also provide spiritual as well as practical support to various Christian-related organisations, groups and projects and we are happy to publicise these on our website. For current details of events and activities please visit our Events page and our on-line Magazine.
